CI expands global presence with International Division

Brazilian agency chain CI has launched a new International Division, headquartered in Canada and focused on supporting international student clients in Australia, Ireland and New Zealand.

In a statement, the agency said that the purpose of the expansion was to increase the level of after-sales support and services offered to customers in their destination, as well as increase the choice of products and activities to "improve CI's client travel experience".

The company has recently opened a branch In New Zealand, after establishing a presence in Australia and Ireland last year. "The opening of these three overseas branches will alone increase our overall 2017 sales, not to mention the staggering sales growth to Ireland, Australia and New Zealand we already encountered in the first half of 2017," said Victor Hugo Baseggio, CI Co-Founder.

The International Division will be headed in Canada by Jan Wrede, a former Sales Director of CI Brazil for 10 years.

CI branches overseas will follow the walk-in branch model the company has established in Brazil. "The team is trained to have all the technical knowledge on products and services and also provide the best service," said Victor.

The three destinations were chosen as the initial international branches due to the typical student profile, Victor said. "These travellers normally stay longer and wish to combine study with work. And to apply for a job in foreign countries requires closer, personal and local support. Therefore, these branches offer a larger array of student services, such as bank account opening, public transport orientation, health care insights, longer accommodation options and so forth."

He added the assistance was customised for CI clients, but would be available to any Brazilian nationals in those locations.

Commenting on the future plans, Victor concluded, "We want to have more branches in other destinations, to offer more services and to follow our clients' journeys, always with the service level, reliability and devotion standard of CI throughout its almost 30 years of history. There is still more to come in 2017."

CI Exchange and Travel was established in 1988 and now has more than 100 branch offices across Brazil. The agency has twice won ST Star Agency Latin America at the StudyTravel Star Awards, the unique industry-voted awards in which educators nominate their preferred agency partners and vice versa.

Victor was the subject for a StudyTravel Magazine Industry Faces interview in January 2016.
