SRJC is one of more than 50 community colleges in the California currently partnering with ELS, allowing international students to receive a streamlined two-year postsecondary education upon completion of the ELS English for Academic Purposes programme, before then transitioning to a four-year institution.
ELS Santa Rosa will be offering programmes including English for Academic Purposes (EAP), Semi-Intensive English and the American Explorer vacation course. Accommodation options include an off-campus student residence and homestay.
The SRJC campus has guaranteed admission agreements with seven University of California (UC) campuses, and ELS said that recent transfer statistics indicated that SRJC had the highest acceptance rate into the UC system among all large Californian community colleges.
Alexandra Zilovic, ELS Executive Vice President, said, "ELS is delighted to partner with Santa Rosa Junior College in offering its English and pre-university preparation programmes on the beautiful campus of this outstanding community college.
"With its wide range of majors, set in the scenic town of Santa Rosa in Sonoma County, SRJC is the perfect location for international students to start their higher education in the US. Alongside almost 28,000 American students, ELS's international students will be well prepared to transfer to many highly ranked institutions in California."
Established more than 55 years ago, ELS has more than 70 study locations worldwide, including centres in Australia, Canada, China, Malaysia and the USA.
