The new ISI Kyoto school
ISI Japanese School opens Kyoto campus

ISI Japanese Language School has opened a new centre in the city of Kyoto, its first in the Kansai region of the country.

The new ISI Kyoto branch replaces the ISI Chukyo school located in Gifu, and has a capacity of 1,100 students.

"Kyoto, the most famous historic Japanese city and the ancient capital, has always been a 'must visit' for all the travellers who come to Japan. The city is surrounded by mountains on three sides and several rivers run through the city, which leads to different landscapes and features every season," said a Spokesperson for the school.

ISI Kyoto will offer two main options: General Japanese, with a series of elective options and cultural activities; and Academic Japanese.

"The Academic Japanese course is aimed at those who desire to develop the Japanese language skills required for passing university or college entrance examinations in Japan. The course is offered in 'build up' method, which prepares students by improving their grammar skills as a foundation of their language education," ISI said.

The school will also offer summer programmes for students aged 14 and over, combining Japanese language study and activities. "It is also perfect for those who are considering studying a long-term course in the future. This way, they can get a taste of Japan before making a decision," the provider said.

The Kyoto school complements two schools in Tokyo and the original Nagano centre in the ISI portfolio.

Established in 1992, ISI was the winner of the ST Star World Language School at the StudyTravel Star Awards 2017, a category voted for by agents worldwide.
