The boarding houses will offer state-of-the-art facilities designed to create an environment that will enable boarders to study, rest and play while ensuring they feel at home in their new surroundings.
Single and double rooms are available (depending on age), all with en-suite bathrooms, Wi-Fi and air conditioning, and a spacious common room is also on-site where students can relax and socialise after a long day in the classroom.
"SISD has the convenience of being geographically very accessible, providing parents with the option of allowing children to experience world-class boarding without sending them to more conventional boarding destinations," said Beat Sommer, Head of School.
"When our boarders graduate from SISD they will leave with an international network of friends, the highest qualifications to join the best universities around the world and the skills necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world."
Students staying in the boarding facilities will also benefit from SISD's After School Activities (ASA), which will encourage students to challenge themselves through sport, art and academia, with activities including desert safaris, go-karting, cultural trips and camping.
SISD is an international school offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, from pre-kindergarten to grade 9, in English or in two bilingual English-French and English-German sections.
Full-time and weekly boarders will be accepted into the boarding house, with applications opening in January 2017, and the school will help to provide international pupils who are full boarders with student visas.
